Mitsubishi starts up operations in Mexico

With the arrival of almost 4,870 new vehicles, the Japanese carmaker and the management team, as well as the workers, started up operations in Mexico this month with the new commercial operations.

Mitsubishi Motors de México officially started operations in Mexico, as part of the Nissan-Renault-Mitsubishi alliance, and plans to market 24,000 units in the first fiscal year of its new era. For the past year, the automotive firm focused on developing vehicle logistics from the ports of Nagoya in Japan and Laem Chabang in Thailand, to the Port of Mazatlan, where the first 4,870 units that will be sold in Mexico arrived, as part of the new stage of the shipowner, to stop being part of the FCA Group.

To do this, Mitsubishi created a VPC or Vehicle Processing Center located in the City of Aguascalientes, which will allow inventory to be ready to supply the Distribution Network in a timely manner. Likewise, it formed a PDC or Parts Distribution Center in Cuautitlán, State of Mexico, with more than 10,000 square meters dedicated to Mitsubishi, to supply parts and spare parts to the Distributor Network in a timely manner.

In addition, it incorporated three new models that will strengthen the product offering of the brand in the country, such as Eclipse Cross, a medium-sized SUV of attractive design that will be an important player in this growing segment and Mirage G4, a range entry sedan that will offer the best fuel efficiency in the industry. It also came with the new Outlander PHEV, a "Plug-In Electric Vehicle", unique in its segment, which will seek to cover the growing demand for sustainable vehicles in the country.

The CEO of the brand in Mexico, Jorge Vallejo, said that the brand starts up operations in Mexico with a new Call Center to meet the needs of customers. "All of the above translates into an aggressive Sales Plan that incorporates new products and improves the flow of imports.

"We estimate to market 24 thousand units for fiscal year 2019, which will consolidate our network and allow us to position ourselves at the levels that Mitsubishi Motors really should be," he said.

The brand will have a new visual identity, aligned with the global identity, in the Mitsubishi Agencies which will start operations from this February 1, and in the coming weeks will launch the new Advertising Campaign focused on repositioning the brand in the country.

How to make an Industrial site selection in Mexico?

Finding an industrial site selection in Mexico can be a though and complicated than it might seem. Choosing the tallest building with a good location or close to highways isn't enough to guarantee you got the right location. Instead you'll need to look at various details to get the ideal space for your necessities.

Tips to make the right site selection in Mexico

Choose the right dimensions.

Calculate the size depending on the current needs of your company, it is best to choose them according to the realistic growth prospects. Otherwise, if the company grows and you did not calculate the space you will require in the future, then you will have to make modifications or invest again in another industrial space. Consider that taller buildings are a good option if you are going to store large pallets of relatively low weight.

Connections and communication channels.

There are different options for the use of the industrial space, and depending this must be the type and access of the transport you need. If it is a space where they will store or produce products that require constant transportation, it is necessary that the communication routes are accessible to both your workers and suppliers.

Investment for extra conditioning.

Sometimes during industrial activities you must make the modifications needed for your business, from installing more power in the supplies for a new machinery, to adapting spaces or sections for specific equipment. Likewise, you must contemplate the maintenance expenses that the industrial space will require in the medium and long term.

Find your best site selection in Mexico

Choosing the right industrial space or best site selection in Mexico is a complex task, which may require a lot of time and planning; besides the investment necessary to carry it out. The best advice I can give you, above the others, is to put the whole process in the hands of an experienced professional and to transmit confidence, so that it helps them not only in the site selection, but also to take care of construction in an integral way. Automotive industry Mexico: The PSA Group will electrify its entire fleet of vehicles

The automotive industry in Mexico will bet heavily on alternative energies, as announced by the PSA Group which will start in 2019 with the launch of the electrified versions of all commercial vehicles of the Citroën and Peugeot brands and the update of the two electric vans that already are in the market: Berlingo and Partner.

PSA Group, the French conglomerate that brings together DS, Peugeot, Citroën, Opel and Vauxhall, announced the acceleration of its electrification process of the range. Thus, all the models developed from 2019 onwards will have their electrified counterpart, be it hybrid or entirely electric.

The group says that in two years they will launch 15 new electrified models, of which eight will be plug-in hybrids, such as the DS 7 Crossback E-Tense 4x4, and the plug-in versions of the Peugeot 3008 or the Citroën C5 Aircross. The other seven models will be 100% electric, and among them we can highlight the DS 3 Crossback E-Tense.

In the year 2025, the PSA Group will offer electric versions of its entire range of commercial vehicles, both under the Citroën brand and under the Peugeot brand. The strategy includes the electrification of both the range of medium-sized vans, Jumpy and Expert, as well as the superior size Jumper and Boxer, and the updating of the electric versions of the Berlingo and Partner - already available on the market.

For the PSA Group, the electrification strategy of the commercial range involves the conversion of its current models to electric versions ahead of conventional and plug-in hybrids, according to Philippe Narbeburu, vice president of PSA's business unit. "The objective in terms of autonomy is to cover 85% of the uses required by our customers," he added. For small utility companies that travel greater distances reserves the technology of soft hybridization based on a 48 volt system, more affordable and better adapted to these jobs, according to PSA.

This plan is based on the use of two platforms, the CMP and the EMP2. According to reports from France, these two architectures will be able to integrate any of the power trains that are needed, whether electric, hybrid or internal combustion.

The most important thing is that this platform allows the construction of vehicles on the same production lines, with the CMP covering the smaller models and the EMP2 for SUVs, sedans and coupes. By 2025, as anticipated with DS, Grupo PSA wants a 100% electric portfolio for its brands.

As you can see, the automotive manufacturing in Mexico is becoming an important industry with new technologies and investments to offer consumers new alternatives that are more economical and above all that are sustainable with the planet. Mexico manufacturing: Mexico could become a power

Mexico is eighth in the world in manufacturing, but must still add to the trends of the industry. This may change this year.

Mexico is the eighth country with the largest manufacturing industry in the world and was, at the request of Chancellor Angela Merkel, the guest country in the 2018 edition of the Hannover Fair in Germany, considered the largest industry and manufacturing event of the orb. More than 100 Mexican companies took the representation of the country in the meeting, which generates 5.6 million global business contracts every year.

The country is facing the opportunity to become a manufacturing power if it manages to rise today from the trend of Industry 4.0, a term established precisely by the organizers of this meeting in Germany, in which technology is the axis to strengthen the capacity of manufacturing companies, considers Marc Siemering, who is vice president of Industry, Energy and Logistics of the German company Deutsche Messe.

Mexico is the fourth country in the world that most imports industrial robots, according to the World Trade Organization (WTO), but, despite this, in the field of cobots (collaborative robots, capable of interacting with humans in the days labor), the country is just taking its first steps.

"This industrial transformation that we are living will lead workers to change their work roles, so they must be prepared to perform in a digital environment that will be more intense," says the director of Deutsche Messe.

Manufacturing in Mexico represents about 20% of GDP and comes from sectors such as automotive, beverages, food and electronics, which will be represented in Hannover, as well as aerospace and energy.

Despite reaching 70 years and the communications revolution, the Hannover Fair is still in force in the industry. Direct contact is the best for business, says Siemering, who adds that, by 2018, as organizers decided to give a boost to the editions of past years in five areas: digital factories, energy, research in new technologies, industrial supply and integrated automation.

The other favorable thing for the business is the opening of borders, reason why the German director affirms that they will work from his trench to avoid the advance of the protectionism. "We are promoting openness, cooperation among countries within the segment in which we find ourselves. We do not conceive, in any way, that a border closure can be positive for doing business ".

Start up business in Mexico: business opportunities for Mexico in the Trump era

How to do business in Mexico in the era of Donald Trump? The president of the United States opens new doors of opportunities for national and international entrepreneurs.

Despite his threatening words, the ideas of the businessman are not entirely harmful. Much to his regret, the drastic measures that Trump seeks to implement lay the foundations for a new flourishing in various sectors of the economy.

What are the opportunities to start up business in Mexico? Here are the sectors in which it is convenient to invest in the coming years:

1. Online commerce

Donald Trump wants to revoke the North American Free Trade Agreement, but it does not matter because this is the 21st century and the entire planet is your market thanks to the magic of the Internet.

2. Tourism

The dollar rises and the peso goes down, but that suits some Mexicans. This devaluation will be positively reflected in the tourism sector, as more foreigners will travel to Mexico because it is a cheap destination. It is one of the best times to put a hotel or restaurant in a tourist destination.

3. Installation of solar cells

The prices of oil on the floor and gas prices in the air. The so-called clean energies, such as solar, will gain a lot of force in the coming years. This alternative is already a reality in Mexico.

4. Education

In the information age, competition will be increasingly fierce. That is why it is expected that the educational sector will experience a boom in the coming years. Whether schooled or not, education represents one of the best business opportunities in Mexico.

5. Agriculture

Contrary to what Trump often says in his speeches, the FTA, in fact, gives competitive advantage to American products, at least in the agricultural sector. If this treaty really comes to an end, there will be a new opportunity to re-negotiate exports of farm products.

Neither Donald Trump, nor the prices of gasoline nor the financial uncertainty are powerful enough to bury the entrepreneurs. Choose any of these business opportunities in the Trump era and see why undertaking it in times of crisis is a good idea.
